Boone’s Texas Shake didn’t start in a boardroom. It started out back by the pit, with hot fire, cold drinks, and a crew of folks chasing the perfect bite.
What began as a bold, homemade seasoning mix crafted for family cookouts and late-night BBQ experiments quickly turned into a competition-grade staple. Word spread. Trophies stacked. And Boone’s Texas Shake became a name pitmasters and home cooks could trust to bring real Texas flavor to everything they fired up.
We’re not some fancy food brand. We’re Texas-born, BBQ-tested, and flavor-obsessed. Every bottle of Boone’s is packed with the same passion that started it all, with big flavor, simple ingredients, and zero pretense. We believe good food should taste bold, make memories, and bring people together.

Boone’s Story
My name is LeAnne Taylor, I am from Victoria, Texas. I purchased Boone’s Texas Shake last year from a longtime friend who saw my passion in the product.
Boone’s Texas Shake was created by Randy “Boone” Stanton in 1973. The seasoning was initially designed as a Secret Rub to win BBQ cook-offs across South Texas. Boone’s popularity grew as folks discovered the Shake goes well with everything! When Boone passed away he willed the brand to his son, who then turned it over to Boone’s best friend Gary “Peanut” Grunewald. Peanut held the brand for 20 years and maintained 7 distribution points which are still active today. Sites include Victoria, Hallettsville, Shiner, and Moulton.
For the last 10 years, I have helped my friend, Peanut, manage Boone’s Shake. During that time, he offered to sell me the company multiple times. The idea of me purchasing Boone’s Shake was planted. So, when my friend asked me for the third time if I wanted to purchase the brand something inside of me said YES the time is now!
I love Boone’s Texas Shake. I use it on everything! I bought the brand because I believe in its potential to become a staple on everyone’s table.
Boone’s Texas Shake has a South Western influence. Nice with heavy Comino at the front of your palate then enough salt, black pepper, garlic, and Cayenne to give a small bite on the back!
Boone’s Shake is not only good as a rub on all types of meat, especially wild game, but it also goes great with many other dishes like: beans, stews, casseroles, gumbos, veggies, dips, pizza, popcorn, and salads. Our target demographic was 35–75. But now, we are reaching younger groups by introducing our Shake as a trim topper on popular drinks like Bloody Mary’s. Boone’s Shake is a perfect blend of spices and herbs which works great on the grill or in the oven.
I officially became the new Boone’s Texas Shake owner in April of 2020. With the purchase came the Boone’s Texas Shake brand name and secret recipe, a co-packer, the domain www.BoonesTexasShake.com, a Boone’s BBQ Trailer, a box of trophies, a dolly, some product, labels and 7 distribution points.
Two months after becoming the owner of Boone’s Texas Shake, I was in an ATV accident (June 2020) and suffered extensive injuries to my right hand and foot. For months doctors prepared me for the possibility of needing to amputate my foot. Five surgeries later, eight months of rehab, constant care from Cody and by the Grace of God in collaboration with angels here on earth my injuries healed and I have regained full use of my foot and hand.
To say the least, my life has been quite a roller coaster over the last several years. I went through divorce, met the love of my life, bought a new company, was severely injured, miraculously recovered, and am now newlywed to Cody Taylor who shares my passion for Boone’s Texas Shake.
I married young and have one adult daughter who is married with two kiddos. I recently divorced and met Cody. He too was divorced and has two adult children.
Cody and I married Jan. 30, 2021. I am so lucky to have him in my life. He too loves the Boone’s Shake brand. I kind of feel like I have been reborn with a second chance to have a career as Boone’s Ambassador and to develop and expand the brand with my husband.
It has only been 6 months since I learned to walk on both feet again. But, I feel like I am ready to run with promoting Boone’s! Cody and I have committed all of our time and efforts into expanding the Boone’s brand. Together, we developed and launched a new logo, new labels, a shorter domain and a new website with online sales. We started offering different product sizes, created a social media presence and installed a custom wrap on our truck to promote the brand. We also do product demonstration shows at local vendors and on Magnolia Beach.
We are now in 17 locations and internet sales have increased 5 times what they were just 3 months ago. The majority of our online sales are repeat customers who we met while doing product demos to tourists at Magnolia Beach. Our website orders are coming in from PA, NC, SC, MS, FL, MA, VA, UT, LA, CA, OK, KAN, ID, LA, AZ, and TX.
